PALM Model Conference

The PALM Model Conference (PMC) brings developers and users of the PALM Model system together to discuss and advance model development, validation, data generation, and recent PALM-based research. PMC26 will take place from 23-26 February, 2026. The conference will be held at the DWD headquarters in Offenbach (Frankfurter Str. 135, Offenbach (Main), Germany); conference participants will be able to attend plenary sessions online or in-person.

PMC26 is jointly organized by Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) and the German Weather Service (DWD).

Workshops

On Thursday (26 February) we offer three different hands-on workshops which focus on the preparation and generation of static and dynamic drivers for PALM. The fee for the whole workshop day is 50 € plus VAT irrespective of the number of workshops you plan to attend. Participants shall bring their own laptops. A check list of the necessary installed and working software will be sent around beforehand. You can sign up for the workshops during the conference registration process:

• Workshop A: Preparation of a detailed PALM static driver with palm_csd Thursday, 26 February 2026, 9:00-11:30
• Workshop B: Preparation of a detailed PALM static driver with PALM-GeM Thursday, 26 February 2026, 12:30-15:00
• Workshop C: PALM-meteo: Processing PALM meteorological inputs from various sources Thursday, 26 February 2026, 15:30-17:30
