PALM Model Conference 2023

PMC 2023 will take place from 11-12 September, 2023. The conference will be held at the DWD headquarters in Offenbach (Frankfurter Str. 135, Offenbach (Main), Germany); Conference participants will be able to attend plenary sessions online or in-person. The PALM Model Conference (PMC) will bring developers and users of the PALM Model system together to discuss and advance model development, validation, data generation, and recent PALM-based research.

PMC 2023 is jointly organized by the Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) and the German Weather Service (DWD).

Abstracts for oral presentations can be submitted during the registration process (maximum 1500 characters).
Deadline for registration and submission of an oral presentation is 1 September, 2023 (included).
There is no registration fee. Later, we may request a small participation fee to pay the cost of coffee breaks, refreshments, a possible ice breaker event and similar. Further information will be given with participation confirmation e-mail.



Program

PMC 2023 will have plenary sessions with presentations, as well as the PALM Model community constitutional meeting and internal project meetings.
The final progam will be published here on 6 September, 2023. Details will follow in due time.

Plenary sessions (open, hybrid)

  • Monday, 11 September, 1 pm - Tuesday, 12 September, 3 pm

We are seeking contributions from everyone developing and working with the PALM Model System. Contributions are encouraged covering: PALM Model development, code optimization, model validation, original research and applications in practice. The Plenary Sessions will feature 12’+3’ oral presentations and will be broadcasted via zoom.

You can submit up to 5 abstracts (each maximum 1500 characters). There will be no poster session this year.

Constitutional Meeting (open, in-person only)
