The influence of clouds and secondary circulation triggered by surface heterogeneities

Since the study of Shen and Leclerc (1995) and others later on it is known that surface heterogeneities trigger secondary circulations. In this master thesis the influence of clouds on these secondary circulations shall be investigated. Large-Eddy simulations will be carried out for the convective boundary layer over an inhomogenious surface, considering the shadow of clouds.
