The strength of simulated dust devils is smaller than observed values. Particularly, the pressure deviation from ambient is more than one order of magnitude too small. In a high resolution large-eddy simulation the impact of numerical methods (calculation of perturbation pressure, advection schemes according to ''Piacsek and Williams'' [1970] and ''Wicker and Skamarock'' [2002]) on the strength, frequency and structure of dust devils is investigated.
